Woodson County Sheep Auction

The monthly Sale is the first Tuesday of the month.  Only sheep and goats are sold - no donkeys or llamas.

The buying station (for fat lambs) is open on the same day from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Animals to be sold may be brought in beginning at 8:00 a.m, and are sold in the order that they are received.

The auction starts at 6:00 p.m.

Sheep:

Light feeder lambs:  230 - 260 cwt

Heavy feeder lambs:  240 - 275 cwt

Fat lambs:  220 - 255 cwt

Ewes/rams:  80 - 115 cwt

Hair ewes:  90 - 145 cwt

 

Goats:

#1 Kid goats (40-60 lbs):  290 - 335 cwt

#1 Wether kids (60-90 lbs):  280 - 365 cwt

#2/3 Kid goats:  250 - 300 cwt

Light kids (20-40 lbs:  260 - 340 cwt

#1 Nannies:  200 - 280 cwt

Thin nannies:  140 - 180 cwt

Billies:  200 - 275 cwt

Very active market.  These prices are for the majority of the animals.  Prices are lower for some based on quality, age, condition, and fill.
