Woodson County Sheep Auction

Monthly Sale is the first Tuesday of the month.

Buying station (for fat lambs) is open on the same day 8:00 a.m -11:00 a.m.

Animals to be sold may be brought in beginning at 8:00 a.m, and are sold in the order that they are received.

Auction starts at 6:00 p.m.

Woodson County Fairgrounds, 701 S. Fry, Yates Center

Prices varied greatly due to quality.  Lots of plain, thin animals this month.

 

Sheep:

Feeder lambs:  130 - 162 cwt

Thin feeders/or short docked:  120 - 150 cwt

Hair lambs:  130 - 187 cwt

Fats:  145 - 150 cwt

Ewes/rams:  45 - 58 cwt

Thin ewes:  35 - 48 cwt

 

Goats:

#1 Kid goats (40-60 lbs):  200 - 235 cwt

#1 Wether kids (60-90 lbs):  180 - 225 cwt

#2/3 Kids:  120 - 170 cwt

Light kids (20-40 lbs):  140 - 215 cwt

Thin nannies:  80 - 140 cwt

Thin dairy nannies:  50 - 75 cwt

Pairs count heads:  $50-80

Billies:  120 - 160 cwt
